The user background

The Denver Public Schools serves for students from preschool to high school. The SLPs integrated the Talkido into speech/language sessions with early childhood education (ECE) students to support communication and engagement.

Challenge

The ECE students with challenges of identification, discrimination and practicing on speech production.The SLPs looked for a way to aid the areas as follow:

Encourage interactions and requesting
Sustaining joint attention on language tasks
Support auditory comprehension and literacy development

How was Talkido implemented?

The Talkido has been used as requesting model for the student to request more music which is her biggest motivatior.

With different verbal and gestural cues, The Talkido has been used for various types of requesting activities.

Outcomes

Increase on Joint Attention Span

With necessary cues and assisting, the attention span is increase massively.

Adapting Rapidly

After just a few trials, she was excited how it gave her a voice and interact with it.
