The Denver Public Schools serves for students from preschool to high school. The SLPs integrated the Talkido into speech/language sessions with early childhood education (ECE) students to support communication and engagement.
The ECE students with challenges of identification, discrimination and practicing on speech production. The SLPs looked for a way to aid the areas as follow:
The Talkido has been implemented to describing certain items in turns.
The DIY cards are programmed with speech sounds and created a memory game.
The system implemented into a hide and seek game to ask to produce sound and attempt words with final consonants.
The memory matching game is with the Talkido system with making additional words.
Aiding articulation
Auditory cues helped the student to start trying sounds he never did before.
Supporting Educator
The cards are the power to guide sessions instead of direct interaction.
"The DIY cards and tags are durable way of creating mystery out of them to support students. It is also useful tool for non-verbals. Auditory cues, prompts, and targets using the Talkido cards seem to support the students I have with emerging articulation skills."
