“We use Talkido during story time, and it works wonders for kiddos who usually aren’t interested in books. They really enjoy it! They play with the books, listen to the words, and start repeating them. It’s been an amazing way to make reading fun and engaging.”

Mom

“When my daughter’s dad isn’t with us, we record stories and lullabies for Mio using his voice. I used to play recordings from my phone, which I wasn’t comfortable with. Now we use Talkido instead. Even when her dad is away, she can still hear his voice, which helps strengthen the bond between them.”

Ally T.

Dad

“İpek is much more engaged when playing with Talkido. She shows the cards, repeats the sounds, asks questions, and actively joins in the play.”

Blake D.

Dad

“Although my 4-year-old daughter knew only a few English words, she learned many new words in just a few days with the My First Words set.”

FAQ

Does my child need to be speaking to use Talkido?

No. Talkido can be used with children at many different communication levels, including children who are not yet speaking, use only a few words, or are beginning to combine words.

Can I use Talkido with a child who is non-speaking or minimally speaking?

Absolutely. Speech is only one part of communication, and Talkido never requires or pressures a child to speak. Non-speaking and minimally speaking children can use Talkido cards to express needs, make choices, and interact with books, toys, activities, and the people around them.

Some children may naturally begin imitating or using words they hear through Talkido, while others may communicate in different ways. That’s okay. Talkido supports alternative ways of communicating and each child’s individual communication journey.

What if my child loses interest quickly?

That’s okay, and it should stay fun. There’s no need for long sessions or to push your child to keep going. A few playful taps during something they already enjoy is enough. If a card stops being interesting, re-record it around a favorite toy, food, person, or song, and check the activity ideas in the Talkido app for new ways to play.

What if my child doesn’t imitate or repeat the word?

They do not have to. The goal is not to make your child repeat every word on command. Hearing meaningful language repeatedly during real interactions can still support brain development, understanding, participation, and communication over time.

How long does it usually take to see progress?

Every child develops differently, so there is no fixed timeline. Some families may notice changes in engagement, understanding, imitation, or communication after a few weeks, while other skills may take more time and repetition. Consistent use during meaningful everyday interactions is more important than rushing toward a specific timeline.

What do we actually do with Talkido at home?

You do not need to create formal lessons. Talkido works best when language becomes part of things your child is already doing. You might put a tag on a favorite toy, use cards while reading a book, practice requesting during snack time, add family members’ names, sing songs, or build simple language games into everyday routines.
